When to Come to Rome
The ideal weather temperatures in Rome are between May and June and between September and October.
Summers are very hot, especially the months of July and August. Rome is pleasantly quiet during summer as many Italians escape the weather and travel to the nearby beaches. However you may find strolling in the city uncomfortably hot.
Winters in Italy are mild. The temperature rarely reaches below the freezing point and snow is a rare sight in Rome.
Spring and autumn temperatures are pleasant but there is a higher rainfall in these periods.
During Christian festivals Rome is swarmed with pilgrims from all around the world as well as with celebrating Italians.
In Spring, in the beginning of May restaurateurs set tables outside their restaurants as various festivals take place in the streets of Rome.
